I think our Town's priorities have got out of whack. The Town of Stoneham pays a Town employee to drive around on trash day to make sure residents are not putting too much or the wrong items out for trash pick up. While that is going on drug use and sales from our school kids are at an all time high.
I would like to see the Town raise the property tax on every home in Stoneham a measly $25 per year to hire additional Drug officers!!! Patrolman!!!! Park Monitors!!!! or Speed Monitors in our town. How about a Bar Code on each vehicle to enter the Stevens Street Dump. A little control of our town will never hurt. Why pay a town employee to sit in a dump truck to watch me while I dump leaves & brush in a pile. Just a couple simple ideas.

Thank You Stepping for Stoneham :-) I have many small suggestion to help tighten up the belt and gave up trying to get most of our towns elected officials to listen over the past 30 years.
I received my new fiscal year tax bill in yesterday's mail. My taxes increased $840 per year :-o I don't mind if the money would be used appropriately. The last thing I want to hear is the increase was for Pay increases to our Town employees.
I don't want to hear the typical cry out the employees need a raise. I've been on a fixed income for 18 years. I live very well & within my means. If I can, the rest of the Town can.
I hope the Town will use the added funds to Hire additional law enforcement to curb the drug problems in our school system. And, for increased traffic safety. Also, Increase the number of Fire Fighters in our town for the type of public safety the residents of Stoneham deserve.
A Tax increase average of $800 per home x the number of homes & businesses in this town = ????? Do the math.
