How many personal cars can you park on or inside your Garage in the Town of Stoneham. I have been told there is a limit of personal vehicles per property in the Town of Stoneham. Is this true?????

If Texting & Driving is Illegal in the State of MA why are there sooooo many drivers texting and driving??? IMO the cities & towns have to step up enforcement or increase the fines to $1,000. I urge the Town of Stoneham to make the streets safe for those who abide by the law . Thank You

I have posted a few times regarding Rats in our yard. We hired an exterminator who is addressing our property. Yesterday we had our first Monthly Inspection by our Exterminator Company. The Exterminator made note that our next door neighbors landscaping is a huge contributor and a perfect breeding ground for Rats. So, how do I approach my neighbor who may go off the deep end if I say anything?????

You call this acceptable??? Look at the picture. This is what our town is turning in to. Sign Says "Clothes Only" There should be 100 complaints from the Town of Stoneham Residents. Instead this is becoming a way of life in Stoneham. I can't wait to hear the usual from the Town. "This is not our responsibility"

Time to Clean up the Town of Stoneham

Let's get together and clean up the Town of Stoneham. You drive around this town and there's trash, run down public areas and parked vehicles everywhere. We shure do not look as clean as our surrounding towns and our home sale prices reflect that. Let's get rid of these unregistered vehicles once and for all. Our Town Code spells it out that only one (1) Unregistered vehicle can be parked per property. Should be no big deal enforcing our Town Code by those having Jurisdiction.

Stoneham Town Code Use Regulations 4.0 - 4.2.2.2; One (1) unregistered motor vehicle per lot; provided that it is not a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight greater than seventeen thousand five hundred (17,500) pounds and that this provision shall not be applicable to any unregistered motor vehicle housed exclusively in a garage on the premises. (10-26-98, Art. 13)
    (e) Parking of a commercial vehicle with a registered gross vehicle weight of no greater than seventeen thousand five hundred (17,500) pounds. (10-26-98, Art. 13)

  • Summer Street Stoneham, Massachusetts - Stoneham

How many years has the Town of Stoneham known about this dump site on Summer Street. Unregistered Motor Vehicles & Construction Debri left everywhere. It's a shame or Politics that the owner of this property is a Business Owner in the Town of Stoneham.

Town Code Prohibits land use of this type. Let's uphold our Town Code or it's useless

Chapter 15 2.1.40 of our Town Code; Junkyard: The use of any lot, whether inside or outside a building, for the storage of junk, rags, or scrap materials, or the storage, dismantling, demolition or abandonment of construction equipment or machinery or parts thereof or of unregistered automobiles or other vehicles not in condition for use on a public highway.

Been in the Stop & Shop parking lot lately???? The two Donation Boxes in the rear corner have tons of Trash left there. One Donation Box is for Books only and the other Donation Box is for Clothes Only. What a disgrace. People have no class dumping trash there. IMO remove all donation boxes from the town and force the PIGS to go to another town to dump their unwanted goods.

Thursday 8/11/16 3:45pm Vehicle parked on the sidewalk at the corner of Washington & Vera Lane. Vehicle facing wrong way. Blocking 100% passage. THE WORSE PART WAS A FEMALE STONEHAM OFFICER DROVE BY JUST NOW AS IF IT WASNT THERE.

COME ON!!!!!!!! DO YOUR JOB. THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE PAID FOR.

I was leaving the Redstone Shopping Center yesterday heading toward Rt28. I was second in line at the lights waiting to turn South on Rt28. When the southbound light turned red vehicles stopped, but the third vehicle in line went around all the cars in the far right lane as if you were turning in to Redstone. The NH vehicle flew by and went through the red light. Thank God the vehicle in front of me was slow at reacting the light. The lady would have been crushed. I wish I had my phone out so I could take a picture of the license plate.
Should the Town start thinking about Red Light Camera's??? I'm all for being Pro Active when it comes to safety.

I have a birds eye view of Vera Lane from where I live. The even side of Vera Lane lawns look better than the fairways of Bear Hill GC. I was talking with one of the residents and I asked "How much is your water bill. Your lawn sprinklers are on 3 times a day and you own a pool" They replied with the amount. I was shocked cause their alleged bill is less than my bill and my lawn looks like shredded wheat and I don't have a pool.

Do you think my water meter could be reading incorrectly????

I live on Washington Street and I have seen an increased amount of children with skateboards this summer walking toward Pomeworth Park from the Elm St area..
With the increase in children in the area has any thought been put in to adding a school crossing guard at the corner of Washington & Elm this coming school year??? Vehicles heading West in the morning on Elm wouldn't & couldn't stop for anybody at the speeds they drive in the crosswalk. The corner of Spring & Washington has a crossing guard there every day. It's the same style intersection on the Spring Street side as the Elm side.
Let's be proactive and curb the potential problem before there is an incident.

Is the Town of Stoneham going to join the other 125 communities in MA issuing a water ban??? We do not have to have a full water ban, but a partial the same as our surrounding towns. I think of the future of our environment for our grandchildren every time I see my neighbors sprinkler system on 3-4 times a day. Such a waste of a very important resource.

In front of my house between my property line and the street there is a grass area. This is clearly not my property and is public property. My questions are:

    1) Who's responsibility is it to maintain this area?
    2) Can I do as I please with the area seeing it's in front of my house? Mulch or asphalt?
    3) It is not paved or cement sidewalk, so can I legally park on it?
    4) If I put down chemicals for growing plants who is liable in case someone gets hurt or poisoned from or on the area.

I would think if the town allowed me to maintain the area I would eventually own the property via Adverse Possession.

We neighbors have been debating (friendly) who's responsibility the area is.

I think our Town's priorities have got out of whack. The Town of Stoneham pays a Town employee to drive around on trash day to make sure residents are not putting too much or the wrong items out for trash pick up. While that is going on drug use and sales from our school kids are at an all time high.
I would like to see the Town raise the property tax on every home in Stoneham a measly $25 per year to hire additional Drug officers!!! Patrolman!!!! Park Monitors!!!! or Speed Monitors in our town. How about a Bar Code on each vehicle to enter the Stevens Street Dump. A little control of our town will never hurt. Why pay a town employee to sit in a dump truck to watch me while I dump leaves & brush in a pile. Just a couple simple ideas.

Something has to be done about the speeding cars on Washington Street heading toward Elm Street. Vehicles coming over the rise @ Mt Vernon pick up speeds in my estimation over 60mph heading toward Elm. I beg the Town of Stoneham to curb the speeding problem before a young child or parent is killed. This is a path for children and parents to get to Pomworth Park or school. Washington Street sidewalks are only on one side which make it difficult to get to the park or school. Come on Town of Stoneham, put your foot down for the safety of our residents & neighbors. Thank You
  • Unicorn Golf Course Stoneham, Massachusetts - Stoneham

I was told today @ Unicorn Park GC that the Town of Stoneham is seeking bids from a management companies named Sterling management and Friel Management to take over the operations of Unicorn Park Golf Course for 2016. Also, the course is planning a $3-500,000 Upgrade to the Sprinkler System.

I do not care if a Management Company takes over the daily operations of the Golf Course as long as it doesn't cost the Town of Stoneham Tax money. Also, where is the $3 to $500,000 dollars coming from to pay for the proposed sprinkler upgrade.

Please let us town residents know if any of out Tax money is being used to support the Public Golf Course.

Does anyone know a reliable plumber. I called two to do a small job for me. One from Wakefield said he would call back next day to schedule work for following week. Never called back since last Monday. 2nd from Stoneham I spoke with said he would come out and look at project. Never showed up. I wouldn't hire either now. Reasonable & Reliable is all I'm asking for. Help me out please :-)
  • 6 & 8 Mt Vernon St Stoneham, Massachusetts - Stoneham
We've discussed trash in the streets, play yards & schools but never mention personal properties. Today I took a detour during my morning walk and walked up Mt Vernon for the first time in years. OMG you MUST look at these two properties. Imagine either of them your next door neighbor????. The Pool in back is empty in #6 from what I could see from the street. The house looks like it was never painted. #8 was just as bad. These two neighbors having a "Make it look disgusting contest" or are they owned by the same person. Let's get together and make the town look better for everyone's benefit. I could imagine all the rodents living inside.

My job forces me to travel around the country. At times I could be on the road for 6-8 weeks at a time. We currently receive our Property, Water & Excise Tax bills via Land Mail. The Post Office will only hold mail for 30 days at a time which makes for a headache. My good neighbor checks and keeps my mailbox empty in case some mail items fall through the cracks.
Will our Town anytime soon be sending bills to residents on line. It's great we can now pay on line, but if I don't have the bill in hand it's tough to pay. Unless there's an electronic link on the Towns website that I haven't found yet. Please help me and possibly others out.
  • Central Street Stoneham, Massachusetts - Stoneham

I travel frequently for work and at times I may be on the road for possibly 6-8 weeks at a time. In today's age, most Bills/Invoices are sent electronically. Are the Town of Stoneham's Property Taxes, Water Bill & Excise Taxes available to be sent electronically? Mail hold via the Post Office is only 30 days. My neighbor is kind enough to get any mail not held for me, but I'm not going to ask them to start opening my mail & paying bills on time for me.

Can the Town of Stoneham work with us who don't get to work locally 24/7

    Your help is appreciated :-)
