No Left Turn not enforced. It was put into effect a few months ago and enforced for the first week. Several cars per light ignore the prohibition.

last summer new traffic controls went up at lake Shore Blvd. and Stadium Road. They were there to restrict left- and right- turns made from Lake Shore to Stadium Road between the times of 7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM each day. The main reason was to restrict this traffic due to the community school at Bathurst and Queen's Quay.

The police have been on duty in the mornings more often than not but I have yet to see any police presence in the afternoon stopping drivers from turning left from Stadium to Lake Shore. I think the afternoon is the more dangerous time. Why are the police not doing their job? Could it be the same reason they are not policing illegal left turns from lake Shore and Bathurst onto Fleet St.?

How can we, the public get some action for our complaints?

I first reported the failure at Fleet last August. Now we have another failure. Still, no one seems to care.

Agreed. I see them ticketing most mornings, and it has been effective. When I asked about afternoon ticketing, however, I was told that it would impede traffic to be pulling cars over so they don't do it. Drivers quickly learn that the no left sign turn means nothing and is never enforced, so they ignore it.

Why don't the police stand 100 metres back from lake Shore Blvd. and direct cars showing left turn signal that they aren't allowed to do so. Or, stand at the corner and direct all traffic to make right turns. Don't bother ticketing. By directing all cars to turn right and thus disrupting their trip home, drivers might get the message.

it is the same at Bremner and York St. Traffic control put up signs last month that between 3:30 and 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday, there are no turns allowed fro. Westbound Bremner onto York St, yet it is never enforced.

I've commented before. Traffic doesn't need to be disrupted. Just disrupt the drivers' habits. Sometimes that is worse than a ticket.
