I am visiting CT and lost a very sentimental piece of jewelry fell down the sidewalk drain which appears to be 3-4' deep. It would be very very very much appreciated if this were able to be retrieved. The jewelry fell in about 7pm on 3/27. I have been back to check and the jewelry is in the same spot.

There's an NHPD (New Haven Police Department) office right around the corner at 900 Chapel Street. If they won't help you or if the office is empty, please call the supervising police officer for that district. His contact information is as follows:

If that doesn't work, please call the NHPD non-emergency line at 203-946-6316. If they can't help you, please try calling the NHFD at 203-946-6300 or 203-946-6232.
As a last resort, there are many homeless people in that area who will gladly find a way to retrieve your jewelry for just $20.
