I just went up and looked inside... its empty. Its about 3 feet deep and loosely covered with broken pieces of concrete. wish the city would see to this before some one REALLY hurts themselves.

Yeah, too late on the getting hurt part. I got a nice scrape loading my van after the cleanup yesterday. This was AFTER one of our local limb pilers discovered it, so it was technically my own fault. I stepped backward right into it with one leg and caught myself with my groin while holding a mattock that gave me a good knock on the shoulder. (TMI sorry.) After I caught my breath I tried to cover it better, but there was not much material to work with...

That TOTALLY stinks about your leg! I am sorry for your "Boo boo":) Do you think the cover was stolen for metal?

Tagged as a "pothole"? Yeah.

Went caroling the Friday before XMass... still no manhole cover. Brittle concrete chunks are still the only think keeping people from falling in. Does someone have to break something before this gets fixed?

So, January of 2013 and still no manhole cover. On the other hand the opening is filled to the brim with debris at this point so as far as safety is concerned, not an issue. Close this if you want.
