  • 5900 Timber Creek Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest

When driving west on W. Millbrook, there is an exit from Timbers Apartments on the left. Residents frequently do these two things during heavy 5 PM traffic and there are frequent accidents and near misses at the Millbrook x Timber Creek intersection because of it.

    1) They get in the eastbound right turn lane (marked with a yellow star in the picture) going the wrong way and trying to turn left into Timbers. By the way, during rush hour, this lane is almost always backed up past the entrance to the Timbers, so it creates a standstill.
    2) They come to a full stop in the westbound lane (blue star in the picture), waiting for the eastbound turn lane to clear so they can turn into Timbers. They come to a full and unexpected stop during rush hour on a 45 mph road. It's no wonder there are wrecks.

I am also attempting to contact Timbers management to get them to communicate regarding this issue to their residents, but in the meantime, I believe DOT or police should evaluate. Whether there needs to be additional painting in the eastbound turn lane that makes it clear it's not a left-into-Timbers lane, or a sign, or additional police monitoring during rush hour, I'm not sure. But the problem occurs there daily. An officer in an unmarked car could sit there from 5:15 until 5:45 and probably witness a fender bender, several near misses, and a lot of flustered honking and confusion.

I really can't see how this apartment complex was not required to provide an additional entrance or notify their residents to U turn and take a right into the complex instead of causing traffic jams and wrecks.

There is very often a red cab tractor trailer parked in front of this residence. It's difficult to see around the corner with it. It's also tough because it parks quite a bit away from The curb on occasion.

There are tree stumps and a basketball goal in the middle of the cul-de-sac. Kids are using the stumps to sit on and watch them play ball.

  • 701 S. Boylan Avenue Raleigh, North Carolina - Central
Please ask City of Raleigh Inspections Dept. to investigate whether someone is living at 701 S. Boylan Avenue without proper permits. The house has no electricity but a car is parked in the front yard many mornings and a dog continues to be chained to the front porch during the day. Recently the dog was alone all day and began barking non-stop in the evening presumably because it didn't have food or water. Thank you.

    Water line frozen? Broken?
  • 2201 Millbank Street Raleigh, North Carolina - East Raleigh
Above ground pool in front yard of 2201 Millbank Street doesn't appear to be in compliance with city code regarding fence requirements. Property is a general eyesore.

I reported this utility pole to Duke Energy Progress yesterday morning when I saw that it was leaning towards the street. This morning I drove by it again and is is leaning even further into the street. Yesterday it was not fully touching the nearby No Parking sign but today it is.

This pole has a transformer on it but no guy wire. It is slowly pushing itself out of its hole. When it finally goes over it will take out the tree next to it and probably a few cars, too.

I post this not because I expect CoR to fix it but for documentation purposes. Perhaps the city can convince DEP to do something about it as well.

I am not sure if this is the right category. Middle school children have to cross a busy intersection to get to Moore Square Middle. There is no crosswalk or stop sign.
