The windows and doors are now boarded up.

According to the assessor's database, the "real" owner is William Cushman who purchased it in 2005 for $350,000 and 4 days later transferred ownership to an LLC: "1229 State St. LLC". http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/Assessor/index.asp Wells Fargo is the mortgage lender.

There is no way that 1229 State St. is worth even half of $350,000. Are the banks stupid or colluding? Where is the FBI? I realize that the city likes the inflated values, but do they really think that the taxes will be paid? And what happens to the homeowners, in Cedar Hill, who end up paying higher taxes do to inflated realestate prices based on fake valuations? That small strip of State St., bounded by I91, the train tracks, Blatchely Ave, and State St. isn't even fit for people to live in.

LCI has spoken with the homeowner. Homeowner has denied intent to establish a rooming house. LCI will continue to monitor the situation.
