thanks while you're at it can you ask the water company to repair the uneven bumpy road that is around these manhole covers? people swerve all the way into the other lane to avoid driving over them. They are really uneven to the road surface.
The Greater New Haven WPCA responded to this water flowing out of the manhole issue and resolved this issue as soon as they had been notified. In order to expedite these type of emergency calls it is very important to report these type of incidents to our 24 hour emergency number @ (203) 466-5260 or your local officials emergency numbers.
Unfortunatly the Greater New Haven WPCA does not use this site as an emergency reporting system. The bumpy road issue was investigated and it was determined that it is not connected with the Greater New Haven WPCA infrustructure.
thanks. Department of Public works, we've reported the uneven road around the manhole covers in the past and were told it was the responsibility of the water company. Can this repair work be placed on the to do list? it's pretty bumpy and have seen people swerve in to the other lane to avoid driving over it.
This is just another reason why when we see things like this we have to use the phone.
There are others that don't monitor this site for example animal control.
The trench is on the south side of the road to the center of the road. It looks like the trench was created for the sanitary sewer going to #79. The RWA main is on the opposite side of the road, and the issue was not caused by work performed by the RWA.
I personally revisited this area today to investigate the pavement issue in front of 79 East Grand Ave. This road depression from the edge of the driveway apron extending out to the area of the Storm Main and between the Storm and Sanitary manhole appeared to be an old contractors patch. I contacted the DPW to discuss this area. The DPW will monitor and look into replacement as part of their spring paving project.
