I agree! At the very least restrict it to hours that don’t effect Rush Hours! This isn’t 1787 where commercial commerce on the water always has the right of way.... and yes, I was caught not once but twice this am. As soon as I got close to the bridge it went up again. That made my 15 minute commute 1 hour. The rules of the water that are over 200 years old need to reflect today’s lifestyle and needs. The signs that reflect “approximate” times are helpful but not perfect. The twitter account alerts you when up but your already in the traffic. The world lives on a schedule. Why can’t they?
Would b fantastic if there was a traffic light at Curtis St. & Chelsea St. that was accurate actually helping the congestion, but the lights in Chelsea would have to be synchronized too. Would b fantastic if the bridge had another lane on each side, but the lanes on the Chelsea side have only made matters worse, since they were upgraded.
