While the lower comment may be correct. I totally blame the people in charge of this town. The people who could actually clean this up if they wanted to.. i hace logged my share of complaints about rhe very same drugs music and garbage sometimes someone will be sent out to ck it iut but no matter there is never any type of follow up to see if problens are corrected or being worked on. The only person i see who tries his best to go above and beyond is the blight officer but between city hall and other laws i think his hands are somewhat tief..My suggestion to city hall is. If the city is stick to rebuild olsen drive. Because the previous administration tore it down without permission from the fed govt. It is a fed housing project. Why not take from 3rd street up to 7th st. Offer any ower who lives in the house for a period of time not just shortly after the notice comes out. But make the above mentioned section i mentioned the official section 8 housing in ansonia and sell the property on olsem drive to a private developer that can be a great peice of land cleaned up and built right. All offices and some technology offices or research facilities. 55 and over living community great location busses trains church grocery target and on and on are there already. No more places built that can add school aged kids. The yearly complaint with the budget is need more money cant afford what we have. So stop adding. Also the 3rd st to 7th st section i mention has a great place to add many more multi family homes where st anthonys church is lot of land there so that will add more to an overcriwded location. If the rebuild of olsen drives goes through as planned and the north end is left as is. In my opiniom ansonia will have two section 8 housing projects only diff is the north end has people like us payong an extreme high amount of taxes to live like this and its time sometime be done about it.

FLASH! We have a drug problem. Heroin is a lot cheaper but the state don't know it yet!

Back to my original question...how do we get a stronger police presence? We are currently averaging 76dB noise with not even a patrol all day thus far. Brilliant. Making the actual taxpayers prisonors in their own homes...thanks Ansonia.

I have asked for the past 10 yrs maybe more for more continuous police presence in the whole north end. As you mentioned. Most of the issues like the drugs garbage excessive noise and music is not an issue that is hidden any longer its all in the open shouldnt be to hard to catch ckean and stop make them move. In reality we the taxpayers who mind their own business and pay the bills we are being forced to stay indoors like a prison even with windows shut tv and a.c on still hear the music over anything else so now that so many houses went into foreclosure the banks pretty much gave or are giving thosr houses away for less than half their value leaves me with the choice of walking away from all we worked for and have or stay there and live in anger from all that is wrong even after the constant complaints on social media or pwrsonal calls to the police or city hall you still will see no change or clean up so wheres our tax break for putting up with it? And just keep in mind all that can be built where st anthonys church is if the ordinance isnt changed before that land is sold. We def do not need any more houses to be built just to rent out. Keep complaining ..

Maybe residents of the area need to attend a Board of Police Commissioners, or Board of Aldermen's Meeting, and let our elected officials hear directly from the people, what the issues are.

Phone calls, letters, postings on sites like this are ok, but nothing seems to get the attention of those in charge, like a well organized group of people, who have like concerns, and are not tolerant of the cookie cutter answers, standing together to get results from those in charge.
