Descrizione

I know the City has been cutting back on grass cutting in medians and other places, but letting parks go overgrown is inexcusable. After walking through the tall grass to the soccer fields last Sunday, I discovered three ticks on my legs. Virginia is a Lyme endemic state. Ticks can carry Lyme, and keeping grass cut keeps ticks from easily moving from tall grass to a host. Failure to keep grass cut in at least the areas that are used by the public puts the public at risk. Any other private property gets fined for tall grass due to its potential to harbor pests (fleas, ticks, snakes, rats, etc..) why shouldn't the City be expected to keep the same standards?
