Update: the proposed stop on Capital Blvd should be at 1336 Capital Blvd on bowth directions, as the Urban Ministries Food Pantry is acessed via the entrance to

Five Points is a useful place to transfer from #6 to #2. Also, people commonly board the outbound #2 or get off the inbound #2 on Glenwood Ave, for which such a change would be very inconvenient.

That said, the green light should be extended as necessary.

@WestRaleighResident: note that the schedules for the #6 Crabtree & #2 Falls of Neuse busses do not allow for
convinient transfers between those two bus routes so moving the #2 Falls of Neuse bus will not be a loss to anyone

If you want to transfer between busses, do it at moore square transit station ... that is what it is designed for

I've referred this to our Public Works Department. I will update this issue when I have heard back from them. Thanks for reporting.

@REFJR, I've made that transfer before, and seen others do it too! During peak hours you can get off the inbound #6 and catch the outbound #2 or get off the inbound #2 and catch the outbound #6. Compared to transferring at Moore Square, this saves 30 minutes. During the middle of the day you can get off the inbound #2 and catch the outbound #6, saving a full hour. This would be a big loss. Also, losing outbound service on Whitaker Mill rd would be undesirable.

The simple solution is to extend the green light when traffic's backed up.

City of Raleigh technicians have been monitoring this intersection and have found no problems with timing or detection. We will continue to monitor and make adjustments if needed. I will post another update when CAT staff responds to the route change suggestions.

That problem was between 2pm and 3:30 pm

At that time there was a verry long backup (having to due with the large number of vehicles
yielding to oncoming traffic to make the left turn)

Perhaps a green left arrow (doghouse signal) here would help (see photo)

ie change the left lane to a Left turn only lane

Our traffic signal technicians have adjusted the timing at this intersection and are continually monitoring to be able to make adjustments as necessary. The existing routes serve a variety of customers...changes are generally discussed by the Transit Advisory Board prior to any implementation to make sure the change does not cause inadvertent outcomes elsewhere. The Board will continue to consider improvements system-wide.
