Stop sign is down on the Stop & Shop entrance road that starts at North Division Street and ends near the gas station. I told Stop & Shop personal about it to no avail. It was probably hit by a car a few months back.

If you are referring to a stop sign inside the plaza near the Stop & Shop gas station, then this would not be something owned or controlled by Ansonia. It would be the responsibility of the owner of the shopping center, which is in North Carolina.
Not that a Stop & Shop employee should not have told their manager. If there is an accident due to a missing sign the plaza owner could find themselves on the wrong end of a lawsuit.

You're welcome Bob. There is a sign at the entrance with the name of the management company. I tried to find it online to no avail. They also post their name in the empty storefronts near Little Creasers etc. to lease space. That is the company that SHOULD be replacing this sign before someone is hurt.
Sadly, Stop & Shop has gotten much more "corporate" in recent years. Instead of having headquarters in Quincy, MA it's now out in Carlisle, PA and has been merged with a sister chain. They handle hundreds of supermarkets from those offices, many not named Stop & Shop and I'm sure store employees trying to get someone in a massive corporate office who isn't even sure what state Ansonia is in to call and get a sign replaced is so frustrating they don't even try.

Wow, I saw that bent over sign last week. Someone is going to run through that intersection and cause a major accident.
I realize it's not the city's sign, but how there is NO maintenance company that inspects that property for the out of state ownership and would report and fix those things routinely escapes me. It's a large commercial property company that owns it... have they no system for monitoring repairs needed?

Bob,
I have no idea. I am sure a lawyer could print out this thread as "evidence' the problem was reported but this site has no official function so the owners of the plaza could say "We have no way of knowing what is posted on some web site" or "We never received noticed from our tenants of a problem".
I was in that plaza last night and witnessed a car fly right through that intersection while the stop sign remained bent over and in the bushes. It's going to take a major accident to wake someone up it seems.

Ryan Healey, you should contact City Hall & inquire who the owner of the property is and what their address is. Send them a certified letter regarding the matter. Then perhaps the problem will be addressed.
I think the plantings that they have in the parking lot are dangerous as well because it obstructs drivers views of approaching traffic.
