This was reported in August of 2019 and has been ignored since. Federal law requires that New Haven Academy be accessible by at least one accessible parking space.. All three reserved parking spaces across the street from this Public School have had ADA violations at them for many years.

The ADA does not specifically require that parking spaces that are reserved for people with disabilities be accessible to the people for whom they are reserved. It assumes that a basic understanding of the purpose of these parking spaces exists - and it requires that ground surfaces be "stable, firm, and slip resistant" and it defines the numerous trip hazards that exist at the junctions of the slate slabs.

Gap between street and side walk in front of Claire’s Cornercopia is dangerous for pedestrians especially those who may be using wheeled devices. My daughters stroller came to an immediate stop causing both of us to almost flip over the stroller. She is thankfully unharmed but I bruised my shins on the stroller with the abrupt stop and trying to stop us from falling. Please fix before someone else gets hurt.

If there's a way to get a wheelchair up over the thing that sort of remotely resembles a curb ramp on the NE corner of State and Humphrey, other than getting out of the chair and lifting it over, could you post the instructions on a sign nearby?.

The vertical level change at the bottom of this access ramp exceeds the "absolute maximum" allowed by about two inches.

I did not trespass and it appears that most of the ramps are at the back of the buildings. This appears to be an installation error, so it is likely to be repeated.

handicap button needs screws

Half the sidewalk is blocked by a private vehicle with a plow on the front. The driver added "CDOT" cones to make it appear offical, rather than use their own garage. This company has an ongoing history of using public space for their private vehicles and it needs to stop before someone gets hurt.

Not enough handicap parking! You have to walk from congress st all the way to 800 Howard Avenue to get to the medical building! Only 3 or 4 handicap parking spaces and no handicap parking on Howard Avenue and the garage parking is to expensive for a senior citizen to afford parking there because we don't have a lot of money to pay out just to park in the garage! Howard Avenue doesn't help out with parking fees! Or the Yale New Haven hospital has no handicap parking space available! Just the ones on congress Avenue so that is a long walk from congress street to York street or park st to go to appointments at Smilow cancer hospital! Us seniors may not be able to walk that distance to get to our medical appointments! Ridiculous, I had to cancel my appointment on 800 Howard Avenue because of no handicap parking available 😑 I use a cane but other seniors might be in a wheelchair! Plus people that are not handicap park in the handicap parking space and just sit in their car! No handicap placard in the vehicle 😢

Bus stop needs lighting—shouldn’t have to jump up ans down waving your arms hoping the one (late) bus an hour stops. Never shoveled when snows (and the sidewalk isn’t usually either). Not ADA compliant. No coverage from the weather.
