I have observed this with the last mild rain too. This is not acceptable.

Ridiculous that developers can have such disregard for local amenities and infrastructure

The drainage issues at Nellie Keyes Park are concerning. Hopefully the park can be regraded or some alternative drainage solution can be proposed.

To add some more background, the grass area was damaged by the builder's heavy vehicles a couple of years ago when they drove through the park (yes they cut through the park instead of using a street). I heard they got a citation or something for that and tried to cover it by putting some construction sand to the vehicle track they left to the park which just made things worse. The damage is a safety problem besides the drainage issue because people break their ankle frequently.

This is a major problem! Extremely disappointed that this drainage was not considered during the new park-adjacent townhome development. I am very worried for the open grass areas that make this park so frequented and loved.

The drainage issues should be addressed. Nellie Keyes Park is such a gem in our neighborhood. Such a shame that there wasn’t adequate planning during the construction of the new townhomes.

Houston, Please fix this one ASAP!

This is the only walkable green space for the neighborhood kids. This puddling and terrible drainage was not a problem until recently. It is not acceptable for the park to flood after minor rain. We would appreciate this being addressed ASAP

This is unacceptable! We need to preserve the only green area our neighborhood has.

The drainage needs to be addressed. Personally, the garden and park space was a major factor in the decision to purchase a home in the rice military and I've seen the community involvement in draws in. The city needs to take action and remedy the issue.

This is not acceptable. Proper drainage system has to be put in place for our park to continue to serve its purpose. Houston has tropical weather and this will only be a reoccurring issue affecting Rice Military families.
