I fail to see how this is Mr. Keller's fault. Can you just leave your whiney political nonsense out of this? Maybe think how life is for some people, especially people who live in bone-crushing poverty. Instead of complaining why don't you go buy water, food and toiletries and hand them out to those less fortunate than you. Be the solution. Not the problem.

I give money to one of the local shelters, but it stills bothers me that they are breaking the law.
Sleeping in the park, drinking alcoholic beverages and urinating in public is a crime.
The homeless are unfortunate for all of us, but these ones at Los Altos CHOOSE to stay there, they should be in a city shelter but decline. So let’s not support this type of behavior.
Some people that pay taxes want and need our parks back, they are being squatters.
Remember this is a city park!

I saw a homeless person have to big wades of cash in each pocket put it in a cigarette box and give it to this guy in a beat up car. Stop making excuses for the homeless and the government that allows this to happen! We are the tax payers and there are plenty of resources for these people! Take them out of our city into the desert!

The true homeless are for the most part using the resources available to them, and that's a good thing. Those @ Kellers Kampground (love the term!) are for the most part drunks and druggies who choose that lifestyle. Life is all about choices, one should make good ones. Now give us our park back and move the vagrants out who have illegally taken possession of our park.

They have voiced many times that this state is lenient and that’s why they all moved here. These homeless people at Keller kampground are not the same as other homeless people. You go to San Francisco and the homeless people in tents there are friendly hippies not like the ones we have here who are very dangerous and will stab you and throw an axe at your head for taking your companies shopping carts back to the store they belong at.

I have yet to see/read anything that allows vagrants to hijack a park. The fact that the Mayor ignores the issue simply makes matters worse and encourages illegal behavior. Meanwhile back at the old Bar-S where vagrants have hijacked a public Park (Los Altos, aka Keller Kampground) it is obvious that the Mayor is not going to address the issue. Were he to, and were the ACLU the issue he'd have said something by now to clear up his stance. Since he has not (crickets) one must assume that he condones this behavior by the vagrants. I am pleased that my Councilor (D9) is working on the homeless aspect of this for those who are truly homeless (families etc). Can't say for the D7 Councilor who's District the Kampground actually falls in but... Lest we forget the residents of the general area which falls in both Dist's. Lets hope she too is aware of the issue and is willing to speak to it at some point.

This is an issue that is not going to go away and needs to be addressed. The longer we do nothing the more we encourage the Kampground and all the illegal activity that takes place there and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Blah blah blah… I’ve talked to my counselor about hopefully closing the park completely until they finish the renovations. Los Altos park is the name. The hate comes with the wrong name, and just complaining instead of trying to do something constructive. Like be respectful. Im out.
