To bad the Department of Public Works only acted after a complaint was listed for the public to see. Many side walks on Quinnipiac Ave, Lenox St., Grand Ave we not cleared of snow within the 24 hours given after the snow falls. There are today many icy sidewalds where school children and the elderly have to pass without a bit of salt or sand. On Quinnipiac Ave between Ziggy's and the deli there is ice and broken glass liquor bottles, along the corner of Grand Ave and Strong School there is an icy sidewalk owned by the city and Land Trust., at the corner where children come off the school bus the snow and ice builds up on the sidewalk at Lenox St and Clifton St many students have to walk in the street. How does the city 'not' notice this violation.
Could some of the city employees start walking instead of driving to work, home,store,or school. Then they will have to deal with some of the these snow covered,icy sidewalks. Bring back the Public Space inspector for residents to call. The Livable City does not take any of these problems seriously.
