Description

In a clearing of a wooded area in Cavanaugh Park there is someone or persons that continue to build a fire at the base of a tree. This past Saturday during a park cleanup a smoldering fire was found at the base of a tree. One other neighbor says that he has found a smoldering fire at this same tree several times and reported it to police. This particular area of the park is frequented by high school students from Everett, vagrants and others that may be part of gang activity because trees have been spray painted also with possible gang graphitti. This area cannot be seen from Cavanaugh Rd and those looking for it have to go through pathways or brush to get to it. If these fires continue and are left to smolder, it is feared that it could catch this area of the park on fire and spread quickly to nearby homes.
