The banners on the light poles along Main St. are faded, out of date, and illegible to drivers because of the size of the print. One series is promoting stop elder abuse week from June. Why isn't one message sufficient?
The banners should be removed; they contribute to distracted driving. If banners are to be used downtown perhaps they should be simple seasonal signs, Welcome to Brockton, perhaps with a light bulb to reference Edison. The current banners do not improve the downtown as they hang now.
