Sherbourne Common
I first visited Sherbourne Common shortly after it opened in 2011. It was a stunning park with an elevated water channel and 3 concrete shower sculptures all in full operation. The following year we took out of town guests to show it off. Imagine my disappointment and sadness at seeing it this past weekend. None of the concrete shower sculptures were in operation and the panels from which water had previously cascaded were all stained with black and one concrete sculpture marked with graffiti. As well, the water channel or “urban river” as it was called had hardly any water, but instead muck, algae, and pond scum. Sherbourne Common was once described as a Toronto Signature Park. Is there anything you can do to get it cleaned and running again?
