Another example of dangerous driving in Westville. Tree and sign down in median. Found gin bottles by the side of the road also.

This is the second of three trees planted last year to come down. What is wrong with people? You have to drive up a five-inch curb to do this.
Trees were put it by Ct Dept of Transportation as part of a state-highway improvement.
Who is responsible for caring for the trees, DOT or city? The tree in question had been leaning since last season.
What about other saplings planted in the area also that didn’t make it? No money in the budget for maintenance or replacement?

Agree with all the things. Traffic signal constant kerfuffle makes getting around New Haven and across town from Westville area to DT EXTREMELY frustrating, it’s no wonder people speed to beat ill-timed lights. Maybe addressing infrastructure issues like this and patrolling night time drug activity in parked cars on side streets instead of focusing on daytime speed traps would be a more effective and efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
The volume of alcohol and drug detritus left and blowing around in the morning is alarming.

Do we have an information on who to contact about getting these trees replaced?
Clearly, people speed too much in this area and the traffic calming was needed—or else people wouldn't be carelessly driving INTO TREES.
However, with no trees or large objects in this median–only more accidents will happen. The median is too low to see well at night with no light poles in it.
